1998. eva was still a child when she learned that the man who raised her wasn't her biological father. the secret had been kept for years until she found herself pregnant at sixteen. the man she called father had exploded and in his tirade accused her of the same indecency as her mother. she'd been called a whore. told her bright future was lost and that she had brought shame to her family and her community. the disownment came almost as a reprieve.

2000. sloane loved her and promised to provide. eva mirrored his sacrifice for their new family by becoming a martyr all on her own. she followed him from base to base. cleaned their tiny home until it was spotless and held their infant children tight when the noises outside got too loud. whether it was for their welfare or her own, she couldn't tell.

2005. cracks made early began to splinter. the fights with her own husband rivalled those that had echoed through her bedroom walls, but they picked their battlefields well. away from the children, to spare them the indignity. children raising children. they barely knew anything, barely knew themselves, barely knew each other. she returned to her studies. education would be her ticket. she could find better words to communicate her short-comings, to address his, to diffuse and save what was left of their frail marriage.

2010. his medical discharge and his depression threatened to take them all down with him. she moved to san fransisco where distant relatives could provide some comfort. a sense of community that she lacked and mourned. stability for her children. she began to rebuild.

Elektra Natchios was born on a Greek island near the Aegean Sea to Hugo Kostas Natchios and his wife Christina Natchios. She grew up with her older brother Orestez Natchios. Elektra's mother was gunned down by enemies of her father while vacationing on a yacht. After her mother's death, Elektra grew up close to her father but was plagued by visions and voices with no known source. She reacted to them through self-harming herself.
